My name is Nathan Beaver and I provide training designed to be fun and stress-free for both you and your dog.

Many trainers still use outdated techniques to “teach” dogs how to behave, the majority of which are punishment based methods that can and many times do have a very negative effect on dogs. Though they may use treats to reward good behaviours, it’s the methods employed if the dog is not “obeying” that can be forceful.

Force Free training does not employ any punitive methods whatsoever to achieve desired behaviours and is used to great long term success at resolving behavioural problems.

...or equipment (choke leads/chains, prong collars, sprays, rattles etc). I look to decrease stress in you and your dogs’ lives and that simply cannot be achieved by punishing them or by using any aversive methods that will create or add to any existing fear and stress. For example; if your dog is barking at people out of fear how would punishment help him learn to feel more at ease in that situation?

Contrary to what practitioners of “old school” methods may assert, Force-free training can be used to treat all types of behavioural problems, including but not limited to the issues listed above.

K9 Leaders' has provided invaluable support and advice

"...for some of the more challenging dogs in our care . Nathan has visited our Sanctuary on several occasions to carry out individual assessments and offer training and behaviour advice. This is always 'force-free' and 'reward' based, in line with our Sanctuary ethos of positive reinforcement. Nathan is always available for follow-up advice and support on the phone . He is also willing to do home visits to our dogs in foster and forever homes if required."
